At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, the Newton County Veterans Affairs Office will conduct hold a public Veterans Day observance at Bradley Park in Jasper.
Featured will be the recognition of the three oldest veterans in Newton County: Joe Nance, Arlingtons Jones and Dennis Brasel.
The program will include the presentation of flags and certificates. All veterans, their families and all patriots are invited.
Gerald Lamb, Newton County Veterans Service Officer, invites the community to attend the formal ceremony and then take part in the hamburger and hot dog meal that will be served afterwards at the park pavilion.
