Buffalo National River has begun installing a new water line to Steel Creek. As a result, the only road accessing Steel Creek will be shut down Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Access to the river and campground will be available outside of the closure to include any time on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
This project is expected to last through August, but if river levels rise the park will reassess access to Steel Creek.
