HOT SPRINGS — Ouachita National Forest Supervisor Dan Olsen has issued updated Forest Prohibitions for the Ouachita National Forest. Forest Prohibitions are designed to control actions that cause damage to natural resources and facilities, as well as actions that cause unreasonable disturbances or unsafe conditions for visitors. The orders expire and are renewed bi-annually. Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual and $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. Complete prohibitions and maps can be viewed on the Ouachita National Forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/detail/ouachita/alerts-notices/?cid=fseprd1174493.
