Geneva Kilgore Owen, 90, of Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 22 (2012). Visitation will be held 9 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kanas City, Mo. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

 Geneva was born in Newton County, on July 25, 1922, the fourth child of six to Henry and Bessie Kilgore. She married Rev. Burnace Owen in 1939 and they had 63 happy years together until his passing in 2003. Serving as a committed pastor’s wife, Geneva played an important part in her husband’s ministry. Over 40 years, she held many positions such as church secretary, organist, Sunday school teacher and president of the Ladies WM’s Group.

 She leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Prichard of Lee’s Summit Mo., a grandson, Bob Prichard (Karen) and two great-grandchildren, Ellen and Spencer Prichard of Lee’s Summit Mo., a sister-in-law, Pearl Kilgore, a dear friend Claudia Baldwin and many nieces, nephews, friends and family whom she loved very much.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Burnace Owen; two brothers, Hebron Kilgore and Herbert Kilgore; three sisters, Susan Box, Norean Clark and Velma Villines; two nephews Kenneth Kilgore and Danny Kilgore and a niece, Joyce Piper.
