Fish Fry from 2-5 p.m. on Friday

This month's Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center's fish fry will be from 2-5 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 8, at the center. Eat in or drive through. The cost is $11 per meal. The menu includes hand breaded fried fish or chicken strips, coleslaw, pinto beans, hushpuppies, pickled green tomatoes and peach crisp.
December's schedule of events also includes a Christmas Silent auction and a gift basket raffle.
Again this year will be the Christmas Lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21. The cost is a $4 donation for registered senior center members. Guests under 60 or carry outs cost $6.60

Wednesday - Barbecued pork on wheat bun, potato wedges, three beans salad and chocolate cake.
Thursday - Lemon pepper chicken, dill roasted potatoes, lima beans, wheat roll and fruited gelatin.
Friday - Tuna noodle casserole, green peas, wheat roll and chocolate chip cookie.
Monday - Chicken spaghetti, buttered carrots, breadstick and apple spice cake.
Tuesday - Fried fish fillet, corn casserole, creamy coleslaw, hushpuppies and citrus fruit cup.
Wednesday -Breaded shrimp, homestyle fries, creamy coleslaw and fruited gelatin.
