The runoff election for Boone County Justice of the Peace District 5 was held earlier this week as Kyle Evatt was elected to fill that seat.
There were 232 total votes cast between the Boone County Election Center and at Bellefonte City Hall with Evatt getting 161 of those votes, or 69.4%, while Danny Hickman had 71 votes, or 30.6%.
Most of the votes were casting during the week-long early voting with 119 while 111 voted on Election Day. Evatt had 76 of the early votes and 83 on the day of the election while Hickman had 43 and 28.
