Arkansas's Great North American Eclipse coming Monday, April 8, 2024, is predicted to be a financial boon for Jasper and Newton County. Parts of 53 of Arkansas's 75 counties will be in the path of totality, and Jasper will be in one of the must-visit spots where a person can have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Some areas of the state will experience up to 4 minutes and 20 seconds of totality. Jasper, according to latest projections, is expected to be in total darkness for 2 minutes and 10 seconds as the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun.
