A proposed amendment to the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s (ARDOT) Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2025-2028 was published for review Friday, August 1, and is available for public comment.

The purpose of this proposed STIP amendment is to add project development funding for Job 101248; Jonesboro – Osceola Connector P.E. to the 2025-2028 STIP. This project will study the need for a direct highway connection between Jonesboro and Osceola. The proposed connection would enhance regional connectivity between Jonesboro, the major economic hub of Northeast Arkansas, and the Osceola area, one of the top steel producing regions in the country.
The public is invited to review and comment on the contents of this proposed STIP amendment by August 22. The amendment may also be reviewed at the ARDOT Central Office or the State Clearinghouse.
