Posted

The Jasper School District Board of Education met in regular session Monday night, Jan. 20, and voted to extend Superintendent Dr. Candra Brasel's contract through 2028. The current contract ends in 2027.
The board went into a brief executive session to deliberate personnel matters. The board reopened the meeting and voted unanimously to extend the superintendent’s contract.
Brasel has been the district’s superintendent since 2019. She previously held the position of assistant superintendent.
The board also approved the hiring of John Meyers, school maintenance at Kingston, retroactive to Jan. 3.
Jennifer Lord and Tina South were hired as after school tutors on the Oark campus.
Contract addendums were approved for two classified employees at the Jasper campus: Rana Harding, reduction in contract days from 117 to 104 days, and James Compton, going from full-time to part-time bus driver.
