Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler said the family of the person found deceased in Bradley Park in Jasper has now been notified so the name of the decedent can be released.
Sheriff Wheeler said 41-year-old Patricia DeRosa whose last address was listed in Green Forest, but who had been staying in the Jasper area recently, was found by park visitors around 7o'clock on the evening of Wednesday June 25.
“As I stated earlier, there did not appear to be any signs of outward trauma on Ms. DeRosa and there did not appear to have been any sort of struggle. But, due to her relatively young age and the unusual circumstances, we are requesting the Medical Examiner take a look just to make sure.” Sheriff Wheeler continued, “It is a sad situation and our hearts and prayers go out to her family and those that loved her. Hopefully we can get some answers for them.”
