Jasper board does some housekeeping

The Jasper School District Board of Education did some housekeeping chores when it met in regular session on Monday night, June 16.
Among the less lengthy tasks on the agenda were:
• Approval of the school district's 2023-2024 Legislative Audit report.
• Approved the purchase of student school supplies for the 2025-2026 school year.
• Approved out-of-state trip request from the Oark School to attend the National BETA Convention, June 22-28, in Orlando, Florida and The Jasper Drug Free Community Youth Coalition to travel to Springfield, Missouri, June 17 to record a video public service announcement at the KY3 television studio.
The board retired into executive session from,7:25 - 8:59 p.m. to discuss personnel.
In open session the board:
• Accepted resignations from Craig Villines, Kingston agriculture-vocational teacher, effective June 16 and from Nicole Bellinger, Kingston lunchroom manager, effective June 10.
• Approved the new hiring of Amy Bottoms, Kingston lunchroom manager.
• Approved transfers of Amber Davis, from Jasper High School teacher/lead teacher to Jasper School District career coach; Katie Warren, from Oark Elementary School teacher to Oark counselor and Deborah Graves, from Oark interventionist to Oark Elementary School teacher.
