Decisive third game of opening round series suspended; resumption slated for Monday

Posted

RUSSELLVILLE — Originally scheduled to start at 1 p.m., a lightning delay prior to in-and-out routines pregame pushed the first-pitch of Saturday's decisive third game to 4 p.m. Once play was finally underway, three and a half innings were completed before lightning delays stuck again at 5:26 p.m., ultimately prompting the suspension of the game.
At the time of the suspension, the Wonder Boys had their leadoff batter, Markos Cabranes at the plate and a 2-0 count after just reclaiming the lead, 3-2, in the inning prior.
With anticipated inclement weather in the Russellville area throughout the entire day on Sunday, the decision was made to attempt to resume play on Monday. The restart time on Monday is to be determined and will be announced as soon as it is made available.
