I wanted to remind everyone about the quilt raffle for the Compton Community Association. Contact any board member to purchase tickets. The price of tickets is $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. You may contact Karen Fancher, Paulette Jech, Latisha Cook, Christine Blackshear, or Darlene Cullen to purchase tickets. The quilt was hand-stitched by Betty Stivers of Mt. Sherman and donated by Darlene Cullen. The drawing will be held in September at the Compton Community Day.
Haley Dye was the special speaker on Sunday morning at New Hope. I have been teaching the Revelation Bible Study on Sunday nights. We have two more sessions to go before we are finished. We are so glad our Pastor Arlis Burks if feeling much better. We wish Dixie Burks a speedy recovery after her shoulder surgery.
Our great-aunt, Donna Villines, of Springdale, had a procedure last week, but is home and doing well. Our cousin, Dalton Villines, of Florida, visited in the area last week. Cousin Willard Villines took Dalton and his companions on a mule ride down to the Buffalo River. They had a great time.

We have been canning beans and tomatoes this past week. The garden has not done as well as usual, but I am hoping to put out beans for the fall. Maybe we will get a better crop than we had in the spring.
We would like to extend condolences to the family of Donnie Wilson. Donnie’s funeral and burial were this past week. I have known Donnie and Eva and their family for many years. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
