As life goes by

Posted

When I got to church this morning I found out one of my church friends had had a car wreck and broke her back. Last week she had gotten married. After the pictures she was walking down to the river and tripped. She fell flat on her face. She was bruised and embarrassed, but was okay. I think she is going to have surgery on Monday for the broken back.
I just heard on TV that our hair grows over 500 feet in a lifetime. It is hard to believe, but who knows. I have four girls who have lots of hair. I imagine they have grown lots of feet of hair so far!
Spoke to Jane and she is headed to Nashville to a ceremony for her grandson, Austin. He is going to dental school and is finishing his second year. He is getting his white coat as part of the ceremony on Monday.
Monday is my third child’s birthday. She was born in 1980. I am always surprised how old my kids have gotten. Rachael is working at Olive Garden this summer. She is a chef at a sorority at the University of Arkansas during the school year. Each summer she has to get a job while she is off work from the school year.
I play bridge on Monday and have book club on Wednesday. We are going to discuss the book, “Here One Moment” by Liane Moriarty. I have just finished it and it is interesting how it ends. It will be a fun book to talk about.
Went by Jackie’s house last week and she gave me some cucumbers and tomatoes. She told me to be sure to go by after bridge Monday and get some more tomatoes. She picked some purple hull peas and was shelling them this Sunday afternoon.
Stay cool. The heat is getting to be too much. Stay healthy.
