The Jasper School Reunion will take place on October 4, 2025. Make plans to attend.
This past week I enjoyed time with three of my classmates in Jasper. Mavis Upton Waggoner and husband Clint drove up from Austin, Texas, Dona Wise Madewell drove from Independence, Missouri, June Jenks Staggs, from Fayetteville and I drove over from Garfield. We spent time just wandering around town and checked out eating places; The Old Post
Office for pizza, and the Low Gap for birthday dinner for June. Both places have great food.
We walked up to see Joe and Katherine Nance’s new house overlooking the Little Buffalo River. We took a chance that
they might be there and sure enough they were! We had such a good time visiting and going through the house, which is gorgeous.
We stopped in at the Paisley Sister Shop and visited with Tammy Hocutt. She is getting ready to just do shirts and let someone else keep the shop which has so many interesting things that you just can’t live without! While we were there,
Kathy Breedlove dropped in and we had a nice visit.

Mavis and Clint drove on to Fayetteville to spend a few days with June. They rode the train to Van Buren on Saturday. June, Mavis and Clint, and I traveled to our homes by way of Ponca. Well, I tried, but there was an 18 wheeler caught on a turn. I waited quite a while and decided to turn around and go to Harrison to get to Garfield. Clint and Mavis waited a little longer and the truck moved so they could go on that way. June went by Harrison, as well.
On Saturday night, Jane’s class of 1965, met at Harrison for dinner and visiting. She said there were 12 in attendance. They had a good time sharing with each other.
Thousands of people marched in Fayetteville in the “No King’s Day” peaceful protest march, Democracy in
Action. There were people all over the country marching peacefully.
I heard on the news that measles has broken out in some areas. Stay healthy.
Enjoy the warm weather and checking on your garden since much of it is already growing. I found the little raised
gardens near the Methodist Church looking good.
