Arvest tourney wraps up at Flippin

FLIPPIN — The annual Arvest Tournament wrapped up on Saturday at Bobcat Country with the consolation finals and championship games.
The Bergman Lady Panthers picked up their 11th win of the season by defeating the Salem Lady Greyhounds 56-48 in the girls’ championship.
Bergman held a slim 15-13 edge after one quarter then led 29-21 at the half and 41-30 after three quarters.
Savannah Ketchum led Bergman with 19 points and 12 rebounds while freshman duo of Jacey Halitzka and Brinley Collins scored 11 and nine points respectively.
Marleigh Sellars led Salem with 21 points.
The Omaha Eagles suffered their first loss of the season when they fell 58-48 to the Mountain View Yellowjackets in the boys’ championship contest.
Mountain View led 18-14 at the half before the Eagles (7-1) outscored the Jackets 16-5 in the second to take a 30-23 lead at the half. The score was tied 40-40 after three quarters of play.
Briar Whitehurst led Omaha with 14 points, Dylan Greenwood tallied 13, Jake Oliver netted eight, Noah Morrison scored seven and Gatlin Edwards added six.
Collin Johnson led Mountain View (6-1) with 22 points.
Consolation finals
The Ozark Mountain Lady Bears needed overtime to edge the Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers 68-66 in the girls’ consolation final.
The Lady Panthers led 15-10 after one quarter, 31-23 at the half and 51-41 after three quarters of play. The Lady Bears (6-6) rallied in the fourth by outscoring Yellville-Summit 18-8 to knot the score at 59-59 at the end of regulation.
Kieria Kleinert led Ozark Mountain with 22 points while Jasmine Fletcher had 17 and Joshanna Middleton added 10.
Abby Methvin led Yellville-Summit with 25 points.
The host Flippin Bobcats won the boys’ consolation finals with a 62-54 decision over the Yellville-Summit Panthers.
Rilyn Robins led Flippin with 28 points and six rebounds.
Noah Layton led Yellville-Summit with 15 points and Hunter Hickerson tallied 14.
In the boys’ consolation semifinals, Omaha edged Jasper 63-60 in a battle of unbeaten and Yellville-Summit defeated Lead Hill 55-42.
Jasper led 50-40 after three quarters of play but Omaha rallied with a 23-10 run in the fourth quarter to take the victory.
Greenwood led Omaha with 33 points, scoring 17 in the fourth quarter. Sam Edwards tallied 14 and Whhitehurst added 12.
Malijah Campbell led Alpen wit 20 points, Blake Williams tallied 15, Sawyer Willis and Spencer Traywick each scored 11 and Ty Williams added three.
Hunter Raley led the Panthers with 18 points while Hunter Hickerson scored 15 and Kendell Hickerson had 10.
For Lead Hill, Cedomir Petrovic led the way with 11 points, Kaden Baker had eight, Nicklas May scored seven, Alex Gray tallied six, Haygan Dotson netted five, Nolan Turner chipped in three and Coda Lemon added two.
In the girls’ consolation semifinals, Ozark Mountain defeated the Alpena Lady Leopards 59-46.
Middleton led the Lady Bears with 22 points, Kleinert scored 13 and Kelly Middleton added 11.
Laini Block led Alpena with 15 points, Cassidy Ohler had nine, and Rhonnie Jetton added four, Crandall Eppes and Bryanna McNair each had six. Yaiza Gonzalez scored five.
