Veronica Lynn Colbert Merbs, 59, of Jasper, died at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison Sunday, Nov, 17 (2019). Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, prior to the funeral at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Harrison with Bishop Berry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Parthenon.
She was born Nov. 21, 1959, to Jack and Mae Jean Colbert, of Akron, Ohio. She was a certified nurse and did accounting for the United States Coast Guard and the Catholic Dialysis. She also worked 10 years at the Woodland Golf Course. As a teenager she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she was a lifelong member.
She is survived by her husband, David Merbs, of Jasper; her sisters Fawn Sallee, of North Carolina, Marilee Rose, of Texas and Eva, of Texas and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Reed Petty, Mel Hardy, Rodney Flippo, Terry Myer, Norman Jenkins and Frank Dell.
Honorary pallbearers are the Colbert children.
