Bessie Jane Bright, 71, of Harrison, died Friday, Oct. 11 (2019). Funeral was at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, with Pastor Dan Esau officiating, at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16. Burial was in Maple Leaf Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
She was born in Waxahachie, Texas, Oct. 6, 1948, to Herbert Wilmont and Orlena Ruth (Jones) Totten. She married David Leroy Bright, in the Erbie Church House on June 9, 1967. She worked at Pace Industries, and later served the workers of Pace as a Marketplace Chaplin.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two grandchildren, Amelia Bright and Matthew Bright.
Jane is survived by her husband, David Bright, of the home; her daughter, Davina Hefley, of Harrison; her sons, David Bright, Jr., of Harrison, Anthony Bright, of Harrison, Austin Bright of Southgate, Michigan, and Josh Bright of Harrison. She is also survived by three sisters, Wilma Farmer, Whanda Holmes, and Mae Gwartney; 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jane’s family.
