Horseshoe Canyon Ranch connects with community, announces exciting expansions

Posted

Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, a renowned destination for rock climbing, outdoor activities, and community engagement, hosted members of the Newton County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Oct. 3.

A Look Back and a Look Forward

The visit came on the heels of the Ranch's successful 19th annual 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell, an endurance rock climbing competition that attracted over 800 participants and spectators from around the world. Chamber members learned about the Ranch's rich history, evolving from a working cattle ranch in the 1990s to a global climbing hub.

Strengthening Community Ties

The event wasn't just about business. Chamber members enjoyed lunch and experienced the thrill of the Ranch's renowned zip line, fostering connections both personal and professional. "We had the opportunity to mingle and meet some incredible people," said Jason Roy, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch's Activity Director.

A Diverse Gathering

Representatives from local banks and businesses, Jasper Public Schools, city officials, and even visitors from the Harrison Chamber of Commerce joined the event, demonstrating the Ranch's broad appeal and its commitment to fostering strong community relationships.

Expansions and Inclusivity

Looking ahead, Roy shared exciting plans for the Ranch, including an additional campground on the eastern side, offering improved amenities like electricity, shower facilities, and enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity. These upgrades aim to cater to weekend visitors and seasoned climbers from nearby cities like Fayetteville, Little Rock, and Springfield, Missouri.
"Our goal is to be more inclusive," Roy emphasized. "We're not just focused on guests, but on the local community as well." This commitment extends to upcoming programs for rock climbing and mountain biking, specifically designed to engage local youth and offer them greater access to outdoor activities.

A Shared Future

The Chamber of Commerce visit solidified a valuable partnership between Horseshoe Canyon Ranch and several in the community. "We're working on making Horseshoe Canyon a more inclusive place," Roy concluded. "With upcoming programs and expansion plans, it's definitely an exciting time!"
