SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After several months searching for the right candidate, Mercy Springfield has found its new chief operating officer. Taylor Warwick joins the team Sept. 16 and brings a wealth of industry-leading experience and insight into health care operations.
Warwick most recently served as COO for Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lees Summit, Missouri. Her time working in Kansas City gave her a special appreciation for the importance of connecting a growing community with health care that meets patient needs. “I’ve been hyper-focused on helping develop programs and delivery systems within health care that ensure patient care is accessible and convenient,” she said. “That’s what our patients need and deserve, and it’s one of the core principles that attracted me to Mercy. Mercy has a reputation for delivering high quality care and high value care that’s known not just within Springfield but across the country, and I’m excited to be part of that mission.”
The COO position at Mercy Springfield opened this summer when current COO John Myers was promoted to president of Mercy Springfield Communities on April 1. Myers served as COO for about two years before taking over as community president, and during that time, he helped facilitate significant growth for Mercy Springfield.
“We’ve seen our market share increase, we broke ground on a new emergency department at our orthopedic hospital and we saw impressive growth of our co-worker retention and recruitment. I could keep going, but at the end of the day, what I saw was Mercy deepen its roots in the Ozarks and double down on its commitment to bring world-class health care to our patients across southwest Missouri,” he said. “That kind of growth only happens when you have a team working together to meet the needs of our patients. We know our patients need more access to primary care providers who are closer to home. We know our rural communities need us to continue to invest in them, and that’s what we’re dedicated to doing. Warwick’s alignment with that mission is what I think makes her a great fit as our COO, and I’m excited to welcome her to this community in the same way I was welcomed when I moved my family to Springfield a few years ago.”
Before moving to Springfield, Warwick and her husband Taylor and daughter Willa enjoyed frequent visits to Beaver Lake in Arkansas when they visited family. She said being on the lake is among her happiest moments, and she and her husband love any chance they get to be outdoors. Now that the Warwick family has relocated to the Ozarks, they’re a little closer to family and a whole lot closer to the great outdoors.
