Special needs T-Ball games planned

Posted

As spring brings baseball and softball games for young athletes, there is a population that can not participate in the sport due to different circumstances and disabilities.
The Abili-T-Ball League has been formed in Harrison.
This league is for players ages 4-16 that have a disability that disqualifies them from participating in able-bodied (or minded) organized sports.
The league will have a two-game season with two practices scheduled.
There is no fee for the league. Each child will receive a T-shirt, team photo and medal.
Volunteer therapists and other medical professions will be helping in the league.
There will be two practice dates. Practices will be held on April 23 and 25 at 5:30-6:30 p.m. The practices and games will be held at First Baptist Church, Harrison at 1400 S. Pine.
Games will be April 27 and May 4. The start times are at 9 a.m. on those days and will be completed by 11 a.m.
The league is still needing players, volunteers and a few sponsors to help. Information that gives more specific details can be found on Facebook at Abili-T-Ball League of Harrison, AR.
The leagues gold sponsor is North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
Forms can also be picked up at 1325 N. Main at Gates Prosthetics or 111 Rush at the Harrison Daily Times office.
