"Quilting is...A Total Eclipse of the Heart," has been the theme of this year's Northwest Arkansas Quilt Workshop which will wrap-up on Thursday, April 4. The workshops began last March 7 at the Signature Bank Community Room in Harrison. Activities included: Door prizes, show and tell, a free swap table, hands-on afternoon workshops and much more.
The workshops were presented by quilters from area Arkansas Extension Homemakers Clubs.
Funding was provided by sponsors contributing at various levels: Gold, Anstaff Bank, Bank of 1889, Boone County Farm Bureau, C/S Bank, Harrison's Wednesday Hand Quilter's Fellowship, Material Girls EHC Quilter's Club, Nightingale EHC Quilter's Club, Quality Quick Print, Stone Band and Wood Motor Company; Silver, Arvest Bank, Boone County Farm Bureau agents Mitchell and Reese and Bronze, Boone County EHC Quilt Guild and the Newton County Sewphisticated Scrappy EHC Quilters.
Gold support came from Signature Bank and T-Shirt Techniques and All Star Awards.
The Workshop Schedule concludes on Thursday, April 4 with the completion of the Mystery Quilt worked on by participants during the length of the workshop.A mystery quilt is a quilt who's instructions are revealed in a series of clues and the final design is unknown until the final clue is revealed. Mystery quilts are often group events taking place in shops, a workshops or online. Clues can be revealed as you finish each clue or on a set date or time, for instance weekly or daily. You have been given a set of clues each week of the workshop and today we revile the creations by those who have decided to take part in this program. The completed quilts will be placed on racks before the start of the day's program.
