Our correspondents: As life goes by

Posted

If you watched the Razorbacks the other night you probably are still trying to breathe! If you have a weak heart you might have had problems getting it under control. Oral Roberts gave us a run for the money with a final score of 72 to 70. Oral Roberts shot to win or tie the game and missed the shot at the last second. After I could breathe again, I was excited beyond belief! UCLA and Alabama played tonight and it was an overtime with a beautiful shot made that caused the OT.
Our weather has been very much spring-like with storms which thankfully have gone into states to our east. There has been some terrible tornado damage along with hail and heavy rain. It is hard to believe the damage that a tornado can do in just a few minutes time. Plans should be made by families just in case of tornados. When I taught second grade that was one of the things the kids needed to do with their parents at home. All the science classes taught students to make plans for disaster at school or at home each year. Knowing what to do could make the difference in life or death!
My church has two services and the first one at 8 a.m. is still wearing masks. The second service the members have a choice of wearing a mask or not because these people have had covid-19 or have had both shots. We are having in church Bible study and on-line/Zoom services. We are trying to get back to normal and being careful. A person can stay home and have church service on-line and Bible study with Zoom. As I was coming home today I noticed many churches are having big crowds. There were many cars in their parking lots!

It feels like gardening weather. The trees are beginning to bloom out. Jonquils are looking so pretty in the yards all around. Ball teams are beginning to play. And of course, the weather is unpredictable.
Have a great week. Wear your mask to protect others, wash, and social distancing if in a large group. It is getting better and we want to continue having less and less deaths.
