OMSD boys pick up road victory

The Ozark Mountain Bears picked up their seventh victory of the season and climbed up over the .500 mark in 2A-1 Conference play with a 69-39 road victory over Haas Hall Rogers on Friday.
Kooper Baker scored nine points and Tate Dixon had seven in the opening stanza as the Bears (7-10, 3-2) raced out to a 21-7 advantage at the first break.
Ozark Mountain was then held to nine points in the second quarter but still led 30-18 at intermission before extending that lead to 48-32 by the end of the third quarter.
Dixon led Ozark Mountain with 25 points while Mason Gilmore tallied 24, 19 of those in the second half. Baker finished with 12, while Marcus Fields, Jake Zemlilk, Cobie Chaney and Isaiah Pearson each scored two.

Junior girls

Last Thursday, the Junior Lady Bears stepped out of conference play and picked up a 53-17 victory over Eagle Heights.
Ozark Mountain led 21-5 after a quarter of play, led 35-7 at the half and 45-17 after three quarters.
MaHaley Gilmore and Kelsey Tennison each scored 10 points to lead Ozark Mountain. Jayden Applegate tallied nine, Brilee Gilmore netted eight, Hannah Wheeler knocked down six while Maci Brumley, Breann Samsel, Olivia Eddings, Paige Hunter and Emily Wheeler each added two.
Lexi Chaffin led Eagle Heights with 13 points.
