Recently the Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas was awarded a van from the Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility Grant - Rural Public Areas Program. The new 2023 Ford Transit Conversion Van was delivered to the Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center Monday, July 8, during lunch. According to Angie Dunlap, Director of Senior Center Services for AAANWA, "this grant opportunity for vehicles allows us to replace or build our fleet of vehicles to transport seniors to access doctor's appointments, grocery shopping and other needed resources. The award of this grant means that we get a new vehicle, but only have to pay a 20% match of the purchase price."
