Hometown Heroes Day and more!

Posted

RUSSELLVILLE — One final day of basketball remains for the both the Arkansas Tech men's and women's basketball teams this calendar year as they are at home against Southern Arkansas on Sunday, December 17.

There are several promotions surrounding the day, with Hometown Heroes Day and Center Valley Elementary Day already on the docket, but the best one is Arkansas Tech Athletics' holiday gift to you our amazing fans; FREE ADMISSION to both games! That's right, there will be no charge to take in some of the best college basketball action around.

In lieu of any paid admission, however, it is being asked that fans please bring at least ONE new/unused stuffed animal to be donated. This is part of a collaboration with ATU Athletics and ATU Department of Public Safety and P-Safe's on-going donation drive to support our local Toys for Tots.

At halftime of the women's game, fans will have an opportunity to toss their stuffed animals on the court where they will be collected and then donated.

Additionally, fans of all ages will have an opportunity to meet Santa! He will be in front of the trophy case inside the Tucker Coliseum concourse from 1:30 p.m. through the start of the men's game at 4 p.m.

NOTES
Hometown Heroes Day is a celebration of all our local first responders and active/retired military personnel.
Center Valley Elementary Day is a spotlight of the school where all students, teachers and staff are invited to come and take in Tech basketball!
Typically free admission would be offered to these groups that the promotion is targeting, but with the overall FREE admission promotion for the day, they fall under that umbrella
