President Pat Dixon conducted the April 15 meeting of the Friends of the Newton County Library with five people present.
After a brief business meeting, library director Kenya Windel stated that people can return their solar glasses to the library as a groups will send them to South America.
Windel also reported the state recognized the library for continuing to have a high percentage of children signed up for the Imagination Library.
Under old business, kit was noted the Bruce Wilburn music concert was a success.
Under new business, the FOL voted to have Mitchell Paving repair and tripe the parking area of the library.
June 11 and 12 has been scheduled for the FOL's first book sale for children.
Members have been invited to have lunch May 15 with the Berryville FOL and to tour the library facility there.
In May, the FOL will start planning for the library's 30th anniversary in the current building.
New FOL members are being sought. The mission is to support the library by providing funds for unbudgeted materials and programs.
The next meeting is noon on May 13.
