The 25th annual Buffalo River Elk Festival, Inc. which celebrates the successful reintroduction of elk to Newton County, Arkansas and the Buffalo National River. Starting on Friday, June 28, and continuing through Saturday, June 29, the Elk Festival features the drawing of elk permits, Ozark crafts, elk calling contests, kid's fishing derby, music and dancing each night, and many other events including the Dutch oven cook-off.
