Alpena leaves Deer with three Ws

DEER — Alpena and Deer met in 1A-1East action on Friday night in Deer.
All three games were captured by the visitors.
Alpena won the senior girls game, 69-31, while the Leopards claimed the senior boys game, 75-38.
The junior boys game was won by Alpena, 52- 30.

Senior Girls

Alpena had control of the game by halftime on the way to posting a 69-31 win.
Laini Block had three 3-pointers in the first period and then again in the second period to score 18 points in the first 16 minutes of action.
Alpena led, 21-11, after one and then led, 33-15, at intermission.
Alpena outscored Deer, 23-5, in the third frame.
Leading Alpena in scoring was Bryanna McNair with 22 points. Block added 21, Cassidy Ohler nine, Rhonnie Jetton and Crandall Eppes six each and Yaiza Gonzalez five.

Deer was led by Jayce Hoskins with 19 points. Aurora Gilmore added eight and Ariel Middleton and Ila Casey two apiece.

Senior Boys

Alpena took control of the game early and cruised to a 75-38 win.
The Leopards doubled up Deer in the first period, 22-11, and then led, 41-17, at halftime.
Leading Alpena in scoring was D.J. Evans with 23 points. Keaton Toliver added 20, Eric Rodriguez, Jayden Stewart and Jaxon Woods eight each, Hayden Jones four, Slade Harp three and Brandon Adams two.
Deer was led by Ty Reynolds with 11 points. Canyon Lasater, Kylan Perkins and Lane Nichols added eight each, Mason Casey two and Carson Breedlove one.

Junior Boys

Alpena scored 22 points in the first period on the way to producing a 52-30 win over Deer.
The Junior Leopards led, 22-6, after the first period and, 37-13, at halftime.
Alpena was led by Brodie Berry with 17 points. Kaden Moore added 10, Donovan Berry eight, Dalton Carnahan five and David Tumbleson, Alex Ragland and Peyton Wise four each
Deer’s leading scorer was Dillon Young with 15. Hyatt Gilmore added six, Clay Burdine five and Marcus Casey four.
