Posted

WACO, Texas — Arkansas Tech's Aaron Winn has been named as a First Team All-America punter by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). The official announcement by the AFCA was made on Thursday.
A native of Summersville, S.C., Winn becomes the first Wonder Boy to be named an All-American by the AFCA since 2009 when former quarterback Nick Graziano earned the acclaim. Winn is also the second All-American in as many years for the Wonder Boys joining the likes of former special teams brethren, Jesus Zizumbo, who was a 2022 First Team All-America selection through the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Winn's All-America honor came in response to his best season in the Green and Gold.
Called up to punt 42 times throughout the season, Winn totaled 1,892 yards for an average of 45.1 yards per punt. His yards per punt average currently leads the GAC and is the top mark in all of NCAA Division II.

Additionally, out of his 42 punts, 12 traveled 50 or more yards while his long was a boot of 63 yards. Only three of his punts went into the endzone for touchbacks while 14 were pinned inside the 20-yardline.
