This year’s one day old 4-H Poultry Chain Chicks arrived in Newton County on Friday afternoon after been picked up by Adam Willis, County Agri Agent at the Lonoke County Fair Grounds. There were 31 sets delivered to Newton County 4-H families. This year’s chicks are a Bovan Brown which is described as a highly versatile and robust layer. The birds lay a brown egg that is very high quality. The 4-H members will show off their top birds at the Newton County Fair in August.
