2024 Northwest Arkansas Quilt Workshop will be talking 'stash'

"Quilting is...A Total Eclipse of the Heart," is the theme of this year's Northwest Arkansas Quilt Workshop now underway on Thursdays, March 21, 28 and April 4. The workshops are being conducted at the Signature Bank Community Room in Harrison. Activities will include: Door prizes, show and tell, a free swap table, hands-on afternoon workshops and much more.
The workshops are presented by quilters from area Arkansas Extension Homemakers Clubs.
Funding is provided by sponsors contributing at various levels: Gold, Anstaff Bank, Bank of 1889, Boone County Farm Bureau, C/S Bank, Harrison's Wednesday Hand Quilter's Fellowship, Material Girls EHC Quilter's Club, Nightingale EHC Quilter's Club, Quality Quick Print, Stone Band and Wood Motor Company; Silver, Arvest Bank, Boone County Farm Bureau agents Mitchell and Reese and Bronze, Boone County EHC Quilt Guild and the Newton County Sewphisticated Scrappy EHC Quilters.

Workshop Schedule
March 21
8:30 a.m. - Registration
9 a.m. - Welcome and orientation - Tamara Allen, chair of the NWA Quilt Workshop Committee.
9:10 a.m. - Boone County Quilt Trails.
9:15 a.m. - Vendor - Sew Simple Quilt Shoppe of Ozark, Missouri.
9:45 a.m. - Quilter's College I - "Taming Your Stash," presented by the Material Girls Sewciety. Topics to include: Building your stash, organizing and storing your stash and stash busters.
What is stash? A quilter's stash is usually comprised of fabrics and embellishments that have not been purchased for a specific project. these might be just fabrics that you fall in love with in the store and know you will use at a later date for some project (it's just to be determined what the project will be). Or, your stash may be the result of leftovers from projects you or a friend have completed.

10:30 a.m. - Break
11 a.m. - Quilter's College II - The Finale with a Flourish - Get the most from your choice of a long arm quilter. Presented by Phyllis Batz, of Shawn's Sewing Center, Springfield, Missouri.
11:45 a.m. - Mystery Quilt Part 3
12 p.m. - Show and Tell
12:30 - 1:30 - Lunch
1:30-3 p.m. - Afternoon Session - Cruising Through Blocks (hands-on instruction) presented by Phyllis Batz. Mug Rugs (hands-on on instruction) presented by Kay Bensuck, Van Buren County Quilty Pleasures.
