I am not sure how many people follow the Waterfalls of Arkansas Facebook post, but if you don’t and love waterfalls you should connect to it. Beth Buckley posted a picture of Jacob’s Stairway, White Oak Mountain north of Hector. It is absolutely awesome! Some of the people who asked questions stated it is on the Wilderness Trail around John Mountain. I love the photographs posted. Maybe someday I will actually hike to some of them.

It was really touch and go this past week weather-wise. Thought for sure we would have a bunch of snow up here in my neck of the woods. We just missed all that snow they got in Oklahoma. My friend, Dona, in Independence, Missouri, had snow a couple of days. It looks like we are going to have rain this week. Living on the Beaver Lake makes a person notice when lots of rain is forecast. The dam isn’t being opened so the lake is really filling up. Of course, the dam isn’t opened if the lakes and rivers downstream are already full. Sure makes it hard on those who have to move their docks,

I got a message from my friend, Mavis Upton Waggoner tonight. Her sister Brenda Henderson and husband, Jerry have passed away and now their first-born son, David has passed away. He has fought failing health this past year after heart surgery and then an infection that just couldn’t be healed. David was a well-respected pharmacist. His many friends and family will miss him. His funeral and visitation will be in Hot Springs. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral home in Hot Springs. The service will be at the Hot Springs United Methodist Church on Saturday February 15, 11 a.m.

I love playing double deck pinochle. My church has a group who meets on the first Friday evening each month to play the card game. We all take a snack to share and play from 6:30-9 p.m. Of all the card games I play, pinochle is my favorite. There are usually 16 to 20 members who enjoy the evening laughing and eating!

Early voting takes place starting on February 17-28, and I am the Poll Supervisor at NEBCO Fire Station in Garfield and then on Election Day, I move to Little Flock at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church (Discover Church) with a different team.

Have a great week.
