Wellness summary received from IRT

Posted

The Innovative Response Training, "Mission: Ozark Wellness," conducted last July by the US Army Reserves at Jasper and Kingston provided community stakeholders with a wellness survey showing the number of patients receiving medical services.
The survey shows the number of patients seen at Jasper and Kingston were 527 and 295 respectively for a total of 822 with cost savings to the community totaling $539,266.83.
The breakdown of procedures conducted at both locations was compiled by Tina Cole, the community development grant administrator with Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD) who submitted the IRT request as an individual 501c3 entity to conduct the mission. Mission planning took almost an entire year.
The IRT provided no cost services July 16-25 at the Jasper School and Kingston School campuses.
Procedures performed at each location respectively and total cost savings are as follows.
Medical, 98, 163, $22,756.20.
Optometry, 763, 345, 1,108, $69,064.65.

Dental, 1,506, 1,080, 2,589, $380,669.28.
Behavioral Health, 42, 21, 62,$7,580.51.
Pharmacy, 52, 21,73, $651.
Veterinary services, 786 (one location at Jasper only), $43,725.
Corrective glasses ordered, 114 total, $14,820.
The significance of IRT missions is two-fold. First it fulfills the two-week annual training (AT) requirement for the reporting personnel. The mission simulates a mobilization with medical logistics, personnel movement and setting up a clinic in an austere site.
Secondly, the IRT mission is a benefit to the community. All services are provided at no cost to the community or anyone receiving services. There is no requirement for ID or insurance. The services are provided to assist as many people with a need as possible.
