Hello again, family and friends in and from Newton County.
We had a nice week-end. Our daughter, DaLane Dean, of Oklahoma City, spent a couple of nights with us. Saturday she and I took a road trip to Lamar, Missouri, to visit her granddaughter for her sixth birthday. Kylie is growing so much she changes all the time. It was a beautiful day to be outdoors. We have four great-grands and they are certainly precious gifts.
The heavy rains brought the lake up about three feet, but it is really nasty. Of course that happens during any flooding.
I talked to Carolyn (Cowell) Lindberg this week. She and Gene are still in Arizona visiting Gene's son and wife. She wasn't sure when they were going back home to Pueblo. Since her sister, Phyllis, passed away, Phyllis daughter, Susie and her husband have moved into her house next door to Carolyn. Phyllis was very loved and I know very missed.
Love and prayers to my cousin, Gloria (Collins) Ouderkirk who lost her daughter recently. Hugs to my sister, Winnie Watson, in Weatherford, Texas. After living in the Bay Area of California around Oakland since she was 14 years old, she hates the wind there! She wasn't real pleased with the ice either! They did not lose power, but my brother at Hico was out of electric a week or more. He has some beautiful exotic animals and luckily he lost none of them. He was prepared with food etc for himself and the "critters." He and his dogs just snuggled around the fireplace.
My Cousin, Donna (Collins) Birchfield, of Bentonville, and our cousin, Frankie (Faddis) Stevens, of Gravette, had met for lunch at the Hard Luck Cafe in Gravette. I hope to join them next time. They reported good food and good visiting!
Seth had a CT Scan at the Grove Hospital this week. I am sure no one will rush us the results.
What a different kind of year we have experienced. I am saddened that so many small stores, cafes, etc., will not be able to reopen. I am not happy being reclusive and of course the sunshine is good for our bodies and souls.
I talked to my niece, Janet (Watson) Ford this week. They were doing okay, made it through the pandemic. Hello to my cousin, Roy Watson, of Harrison. Until next time, God bless, and "Happy trails to you."
