FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas Coach John Calipari has added Hawaii Pacific transfer guard Melo Sanchez to his roster for the Class of 2024.
Sanchez, 6-4, 185, had a good sophomore season for the D2 school. He averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.2 steal each outing. He shot 36.0% from the field, 34.6 from behind the 3-point line and 79.8 at the free throw line.
He is the 11th addition to Calipari's first class. Schools are allowed 13 scholarship players. He played high school basketball at San Diego (Calif.) Veritas Prep.
In addition to Sanchez, Arkansas' roster includes forward Trevon Brazile, 6-10, 220; forward Adou Thiero, 6-8, 220; forward Billy Richmond III, 6-5, 205; forward Karter Knox, 6-6, 225; forward Zvonimir Ivisic, 7-2, 235; guard Johnell Davis, 6-4, 205; guard Boogie Fland, 6-2, 175; forward Jonas Aidoo, 6-11, 240; and guard D.J. Wagner, 6-4, 192; guard Jaden Karuletwa, 6-6, 180. Senior walk-on forward Lawson Blake, 6-10, 240, is also on the squad.
