Christmas day stabbing

Marion County deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 11:22 p.m. on Dec. 25.
The deputies located an adult white male on the floor of a workshop at a residence located off Marion County Road 5013. The male had what appeared to be a stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body will be transferred to the Medical Examiner's Section of the Arkansas State Police for an autopsy.
A suspect has been taken into custody. Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police conducted interviews and processed the crime scene.
Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander later released further information regarding the stabbing . The incident occurred at approximately 11:22 p.m. at a residence located off Marion County Road 5013.
On arrival, deputies located 43 year old Yellville resident, Lucas Cody Jewell, on the floor of a workshop, deceased, with what appeared to be a stab wound. Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police conducted interviews and processed the scene. Jewell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner and the body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s Section of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
Jewell's uncle, 67 year old Stephen R. Fitzpatrick of Everton, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder with a $150,000 cash bond.

Unattended death investigation

Marion County sheriff Gregg Alexander released details about an on-going death investigation. At approximately 8 p.m on Dec. 22, a Marion County deputy took a missing person report from a complainant living in a community adjacent to Marion County 5026 (Shawnee Cave Road). The caller reported that her daughter was missing.
Later that night, at approximately 11 p.m., deputies responded to the same residence after the caller stated that she had located the missing person. The daughter was found unresponsive in a bedroom at the residence.
Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Arkansas State Police responded to the residence. Investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews.
The body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s Section of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation is on-going, and the identity of the female is currently being withheld.
