It is amazing how black cardboard and plastic burn! Last week the recycling center in Rogers caught on fire and it was quite a scene! The fire burned for a number of days. The smoke was seen quite a number of miles from Rogers. My daughter, Amanda was driving from Springfield, Missouri, and saw the smoke and called me to see what was going on. She was on state Highway 49 on the other side of Bentonville.
Early voting has started this week in Arkansas. If you haven’t voted yet and you don’t want to stand in lines, then you should go in early. I am not sure, but the years I have worked the election site during the presidential elections, the lines can be long on election day. The early voting helps spread out the numbers voting. If you have neighbors who need a ride to the poll, it is good to offer them a ride to vote. Everyone should vote to make their voice heard.

This past week has been a blur to me. On Wednesday morning I raced to the bathroom because I had an explosive case of diarrhea. The worst part of it was it wasn’t just on Wednesday. I lived in the bathroom all week. I guess it was a virus, but don’t know for sure. I do have a friend who had diarrhea for five days, but I thought she had it because she had been really busy helping a friend get ready for her wedding. Guess not! She told me she had it for five days. Being weak was one of the by-products and I had the same thing happen to me. I could hardly walk or stand up very long. It is bad when a person has to cancel a number of things already planned. I had to miss a haircut, a doctor’s appointment, a trip to Spay AR, choir practice, and I was supposed to read at church, a church meeting and the youth cooked lunch for the congregation, that I missed. Late Sunday afternoon I suddenly felt better, not well, but better! Amazing! Thank goodness, I am the administrator at our election site in Garfield at NEBCO. My daughter, Elisa is my assistant and she made things easy for me to complete for the starting day on Monday. I am hoping everyone has watched the candidates on TV and are ready to make an educated selection when voting. Who do we think would make the best leader? Go vote!
