Basic training completed by officers

BENTON – The Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (CALETA) hosted their Basic Police Training Class 2024-A Graduation ceremony on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Saline County Career Technical Campus in Benton. A total of 13 law enforcement agencies in Central Arkansas were represented by 32 officers and/or deputies who participated in the academy, where they took part in intensive training in different areas of law enforcement methods and skills.
The following were recognized as honor graduates for achievement in the areas of physical fitness, firearms, and academics:
Physical Fitness –
1st Place – Officer Jon Vieau, Alexander Police Department
2nd Place – Officer Justin Bray, Jacksonville Police Department
3rd Place – Deputy Ethan Echols, Saline County Sheriff’s Office
Firearms –
1st Place – Officer Robert Worm, Conway Police Department

2nd Place – Officer Dakota Grizzle, Benton Police Department
3rd Place – Deputy Shane Ray, Garland County Sheriff’s Office
Academics –
1st Place – Officer Damon Cleghorn, Redfield Police Department
2nd Place – Deputy William Novak, Saline County Sheriff’s Office
3rd Place – Officer Jon Vieau, Alexander Police Department
Chief Scotty Hodges, of the Benton Police Department, served as the ceremony’s guest speaker.
