OARK — The Deer Antlers are getting prepared for the upcoming postseason play.
Friday night the Antlers took a bus ride to Oark for basketball action. When the game was over Deer won a mercy-rule contest over the Hornets, 73-57.
Deer exploded for 52 first half points to double up Oark, 52-26.
The Antlers had three players score in double figures in the first half alone.
Deer hit nine 3-pointers in the game. Caden Young's first five made field goals were 3-pointers. The senior had three of the long shots in the first quarter as the Antlers led 22-12.
Deer had 30 points in the second frame.
The Antlers moved the game into the Arkansas Good Sportsmanship status at the end of the third period with a 67-36 lead.
Deer was led by Young with 25 points. Evan Middleton added 17, Dylan Smith 12, Isaiah Casey seven, Johnny Smith and Denton Daniels four each and Dalton Heffley and Chase Campbell two apiece.
