Gianella Edelen, 53, of St. Joe, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash in rural Boone County. It happened at 3 p.m., Monday, May 5, on US 62 at Sharp Court, according to Arkansas State Police.
Edelen was operating a 1996 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck headed west on US 62, just west of Sharp Court. A 2014 Dodge Ram was eastbound on US 62.
The crash occurred, apparently, when the Toyota crossed the center line and struck the Dodge in the front with the front portion of their vehicle. Following impact the Dodge travelled off the north side of the roadway, travelled down an embankment. The Toyota came to a final rest partially in the eastbound and partially in the westbound lane of US 62 facing south. The Dodge came to a final rest on the north side of US 62 facing east, according to the report filed by Trooper Ty Roberson.
