MOUNTAIN HOME — The Jasper Pirates had a successful venture into the Class 1A Region 1 Baseball Tournament.
Jasper earned a trip to the Class 1A State Baseball Tournament to be held in Harrison beginning on Thursday.
Scoring double digit runs in every game of the regional tournament, Jasper won two games in the event to take a No. 3 seed into the state tournament.
The Pirates started their regional attack on Thursday.
Getting Mulberry in their first game, Jasper put up a regional best scoring effort. The Pirates crossed home plate 22 times on the way to posting a 22-12 victory.
That win earned the team the state win as they finished in the top four.
In the semifinals of the tournament the team faced Scranton. Scranton was the No. 1 seed.
The Rockets managed one more run that Jasper for a 12-11 victory.
Moving to the consolation bracket for Saturday action, the Pirates faced Magazine.
Jasper left with a 14-11 triumph.
The Pirates will play Thursday in the state event.
With game time beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Pirates will face Mt. Ida.
