Retired Army First Sergeant Jerry Peeler will be honored at this year's Newton County Veterans Day observance. It will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Newton County Senior Activity and Wellness Center. The location was moved from Bradley Park due to last week's flooding of the Little Buffalo River. The annual observance is hosted by Newton County Veterans Service Officer Gerald Lamb.
The program will include the presentation of state and national legislative citations to Peeler for his past military service to the nation and his current civilian service to his community as a member of the American Legion.
