The Arkansas State Police conducted a memorial service at 9:15 Thursday morning honoring the service and sacrifice of the 19 Arkansas State Troopers killed in the line of duty over the course of the department's 86 year history.
The service was held in the main lobby of the Arkansas State Police Administrative Headquarters near the Hall of Honor. Colonel (retired) Doug Harp, who was state police director from May 1975 – June 1981 addressed the memorial service audience that included invited survivor families of the slain troopers.
