Marion man charged with manslaughter

YELLVILLE — Zerahiah Harris, 24, of Oakland has been charged with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander.
The charges stem from the October 2023 shooting of Harris’ sister, 27-year-old Haisley Mack, also of Oakland. After completing the investigation, the case file was submitted the case file to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office to review for a file decision.

Harris was booked into the Marion County Detention Center on Aug. 23, where he posted a $25,000 bond before being released.
According to an affidavit filed in Marion County court on Aug. 23, law enforcement was called to Marion County Rd. 124 in Oakland, on Oct. 29 2023 to respond to a report of a brother accidentally shooting his sister.
