Library will laminate COVID-19 vaccine cards for free

Posted

The Newton County Library is offering free lamination of a copy of your Covid-19 vaccine card.
"We'll make a free copy of your vaccine card, and we'll laminate it for free," said Kenya Windel, library director.

With the possibility that you may need to carry proof that you are vaccinated to participate in some activities, a laminated copy is durable and allows you to keep the original in a safe place with your other important documents. Laminating your original card may cause the ink to fade or disappear due to the heat of the lamination process.
The CDC recommends that you do not laminate your original vaccine card in case booster shots need to be added later. The CDC also recommends that you keep your card in case you need it for future use and recommends taking a photo of the front and back of your card as a backup copy, Windel said.
