Kingston girls are queens of 1A track

MINERAL SPRINGS — As the season progressed, there was a school in Class 1A that was making a name for itself.
When competing against larger schools, the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets were always in the thick of winning events.
On Monday at Mineral Springs High School, the Lady Yellow Jackets had what it took to take home the championship hardware. The Lady Yellow Jackets scored 89 points beating Northwest Ark. Classical Academy by six points for the crown.
Jasper finished seventh with 26 points while Omaha had 12 points for a 17th place finish and Ozark Mountain had four points for 33rd place.

Kingston
The Lady Yellow Jackets of Kingston took home three first-place finishes on the way to winning the championship.
Ashley Floyd won two of the events. She was first in the 800 Meter Run. She finished the race in 2:37.74.
She also won the High Jump. She had a leap of 4-10.00.
The relay team of Hannah Johnson, Alivia Hasty, Meghan Parker and McKenna Clemons won the 4X800 Relay. They finished the race in 11:11.51.
Mellia Johnson placed in two individual events. She was third in the 100 Meter Hurdles in 18:13. She was fifth in the 400 Meter. She finished that race in 1:08.87.
Kingston had six other individuals place in events.
Renee Pittman was third in the 200 Meter. She finished in 29.84.
Hope Cooper was third in the 400 Meter in 1:08.18.
Lila Hartness was third in the 300 Meter Hurdles. She finished the race in 55.09.
Grace Cooper was a fourth place finisher in the Long Jump. She leaped 14-09.00.
With a fifth place finish in the 800 Meter, Jaiden Head finished the race in 2:47.88.
Clemons was an eighth place finisher in the Shot Put. She threw 29-01.00.
The relay team of Pittman, Libbie Johnson, Hope Cooper and Grace Cooper finished in the top four of two relay events. In the 4X200 Meter Relay, the squad was second in 2:00.03 while the team finished fourth in the 4X100 Meter Relay. They had a sub-minute time of 56.19.
The relay team of Hartness, Rilee Pittman, Mellia Johnson and Hope Cooper finished second in the 4X400 Meter Relay. The team finished in 4:44.47.

Jasper
The Jasper Lady Pirates recorded a seventh place finish in the state meet.
Two Lady Pirates placed in the events.
Haley Sexton was a state champion in the 200 Meter. She finished the race in 29.30. She was fourth in the 100 Meter. She ran that race in 13.76.

Aubrey Henderson placed in two events. She placed third in the 3200 Meter in a time of 13:54.29.
Henderson was fourth in the 1600 Meter. She ran the race in 6:04.75.

Omaha
Omaha received all of its points in one event.
The Lady Eagles had two athletes place in the Pole Vault. Jolie Rivera was a state champion. She vaulted at 7-03.00.
Tristen Kimberlin was seventh in the vault. She jumped 5-06.00.

Ozark Mountain
Tara Yocham scored the only points for Ozark Mountain. She placed fifth in the 300 Meter Hurdles. She had a time of 56.22.
