Posted

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The 2025 season for the Arkansas Tech baseball team came to an end at the Central Region Tournament as the Wonder Boys lost an elimination game to Harding, 14-5.

The Wonder Boys closed out the season with an overall record of 32-23. It was the third-straight season that Tech baseball has won 30 or more games. In conference play, the Wonder Boys went 23-9 and won the GAC Regular Season Championship out-right. It was the second out-right regular season conference title for the program and their fourth since 2014.

Claiming the regular season championship helped bolster the Wonder Boys' overall resume, which in turn, led to a third-straight NCAA Central Region appearance as an at-large team. In addition to their conference schedule, the Wonder Boys once again played a stout non-conference schedule.

Six of their seven true non-conference opponents made a NCAA Regional Tournament this season and three of their conference opponents made a regional as well.

Their win in the opening game of this year's regional was the 600th career victory for head coach Dave Dawson. Already the all-time winningest coach in Tech baseball history, 482 of those wins have come at Arkansas Tech.

As a team, the Wonder Boys hit .311 (562-for-1,807) with 449 runs scored, 99 doubles, 10 triples, 43 home runs and 389 RBIs. They were also walked 260 times and were hit-by-a-pitch 115 times.

The base hits were the fourth-most in a season, the runs were second-most and the walks set a single-season team record. Defensively, the Wonder Boys were stellar all season and finished with a .975 fielding percentage, which ranks in the top-10 on DII.
