The Harrison Public Schools did not hold classes on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I enjoyed the three-day weekend.
Get well wishes go out to Garland and Robin Matlock, who have both been under the weather. We wish them a speedy recovery.
The Compton Volunteer Fire Department will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 10, at the County Line Baptist Church.
Reminder that the Compton Bible Church is holding services on Sundays at 11 a.m. The new heating system has been installed and is working well. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information, contact Pastor David Day.
Our cousin, Bennie Blackston, of Augusta, Kansas, celebrated his 92 nd birthday this week. We wish him many more happy birthdays. His mother, Ida Blackston, was one of my great-grandmother Pearl Edgar’s sisters. Aunt Ida and Uncle Floy lived above Highway 43 at Compton for many years. I used to like going to Aunt Ida’s, as she was a great cook.
I hope everyone is staying warm and well. Have a great week.
