Jasper High School Band receives First Division

March 7 in Mountain Home, the Jasper Pirate Band competed in the regional concert assessment and received a “Superior” rating in sight-reading. The band was given a piece of music they had never seen before to play. “I was very proud of them, we have been working on our music literacy skills all year,” said director, Molly Magouyrk-Hudson. “This is a big step for us,” said senior, Josh Taylor. Sophomore, Bethany Long, said, “We were the smallest band there, so we were proud of ourselves.”
